i’m a fan of kashtan — i felt like a kid in a candy store. speaking of candy, had this porter last night

this is the first beer from lithuania… well… it’s the first ANYTHING from lithuania

normally, when a label mentions that the beer tastes of caramel and whatnot, you barely taste it, if at all… but for this beer, oh no. it was like someone got one of those bottles of caramel from starbucks and squeezed out a ton in here

it wasn’t obnoxious tho — it was in the aftertaste, which i’m calling the best beer aftertaste.

when you get to the bottom quarter of beer, the beer is even sweeter — i’m guessing it’s because all the sugars have settled down to the bottom. good suggestion by chaunce, do a slowly swirl the beer around while you’re drinking it to spread the wealth
