beer: gordon biersch sommerbrau

tasted very hwheaty (spelled correctly)

tasted very hwheaty (spelled correctly)

store: gordon biersch
type: kölsch
abv: 4.6%

so this was a consolation beer after waiting roughly an hour for district 9 (and then getting turned away) with geoff.

this is currently the seasonal beer at gordon biersch and it’s definitely worth a shot — i really like wheaty beer… there’s a crisp, refreshing flavor…

it went awesome with my meal: cheeseburger and garlic fries (appetizer of beer cheese soup)… the beer cheese soup is AMAZING… the cheeseburger kicked my ass tho — i dunno what it was. i still maintain that the bun was a bit “tough” (for the lack of a better term)

oh well… it’s still good beer AND they’re on twitter! AAAAND they respond to tweets (cont’d)!

(i’m currently asking them what the abv of this beer is — let’s see how fast they respond)

UPDATE: they responded!

spot the movies

i found this really cool art print online where the artist drew a bunch of items in a pile. all the items are from “famous” movies…

so this has been a really long email chain, but we’re stuck on the last few…

instead of giving you the answers off the bat, let’s see if you can get some — i have a guess that tim will be really good at this…

props to crazy4cult and galleries one nine eight eight

you could be a part-time model

boo pandora — i don’t like how the desktop AIR app now requires an upgraded PAID account to download. looks like if you already have it installed, it’ll still work… but still — it’s been bugging me lately too: limited skips in an hour, ads, same songs… etc

lastfm-logo

so i started lookin’ for other means of internet radio and “found” (yea i’m late to this bus) last.fm — and it comes with an AIR app as well (it’s a bit buggy — still version 0.2 and last.fm’s data center malfunction might’ve been the cause)

made some purchases over the weekend –

got this bad boy (geoff got one too, paid with bananas, of course! boo yah)

ubuntu-logo

i currently have a winXP and ubuntu dual boot setup (but i’m thinking of trying win7, since geoff has given it rave reviews so far)

it’s sick — it’s good for sports scores or general email — uses a lot less energy too

then ordered one of these sandisk sansa clips (1gb) — at that price… i couldn’t let it pass me by

and then i finished it all up with an iPod/MP3 player kit for my car — i’ve been getting tired of XM lately so i’ll be cancelling that now that i have this. the kit is a little quirky but it can play non-iPod players, which is where the sansa clip will come in… i’m very happy about this — something i’ve been wanting for my car for soooo long

they actually did a good job at bestbuy!

pick up the pieces!

is it odd that the highlight of my day is getting my car to sears for an alignment, wheel balance and rotation? my car used to shake like michael j. fox when i would press the brakes at pretty much any speed over 30 mph…

i figured… after 2 years of ownership… i’ll take it in to get it workin’ like new — and it is… runs (and stops) like a dream…

what else happened?

  • got new kicks, pants, and a shirt — i thought to myself… “wwsd” (where s=sarmad)
  • tried out windows mesh — as geoff states, “Windows Live Mesh. Think Remote Desktop meets file share meets file backup/sync. In other words, awesome.” (more about this soon)
  • saw “still waiting” — wasn’t that great… they relied too much on the first movie — too many references back to that one…
  • got a “save the date” postcard for my 10-year high school reunion… jesus christ it’s already 10 friggin years?
  • california burrito and a coke — gotta love san diego

so i noticed that dane cook and jim gaffigan are twittering (or as andy would argue, their publicists are twittering)… either way, they’re not really funny… it’s kind of a letdown — they pretty much use twitter to whore their new cd’s comin’ out.

it’s pretty annoying, they’re on the bubble right now of getting removed from my list unless they bring the funny

what a linkfest…
