colombia – medellin’s countryside

WINDY WINDY WINDY WINDY…

oops… didn’t realize it picked up so much of the wind in the mic

anyway, it’s sooooo beautiful here. away from the traffic, away from the pollution, there’s a gem in the countryside of rionegro, about 30 minutes from the city. this is ana’s uncle’s countryhome, affectionately named “aragon”

colombia – el tesoro shopping mall

one of several malls in the city of medellin. got a slick colombia national team jacket in the adidas store.

in the middle of the mall is a park with a forest. it has a place for kids to play: a ferris wheel, a long slide, and one of those bungee jumpy acrobatic things…

it’s a HUGE mall… like you couldn’t walk around it in one day…

colombia – chicharon

one of the best things to eat in colombia… chicharones.

this was at a random roadside eatery in medellin, colombia

colombia – they use augmented reality!

pretty slick use of augmented reality at the museo del agua in medellin. iPads on rollers point down at different points on the floor, showing different animations about water usage.

the whole museum was actually pretty cool — a bunch of different interactive modules all centered around water: the science, the usage, etc.

best of all, the museum is free… actually best of all, the museum was air conditioned!

colombia – botanical gardens

having a snack in the warmth of medellin, colombia. walking around this botanical garden was great… it’s a beautiful spot. there were a TON of couples just sitting on blankets on the grass
