i gotta admit — i was gonna get the blue label chimay, but then saw a gnome on a bottle of beer and HAD TO get it… this was the other beer brought to the usa/spain match (maybe i shoulda themed my beer with the game… doh!)

go belgium — another great one! it’s a cloudy witbier-like flavor

the mouthfeel was like a sparkling cider — very bubbly, making it a good one to drink on a warm day

thanks to andy, i found out the meat/cheese that we had: pepper salame (they weren’t fuckin’ around with the pepper), ivernia (ireland), and iberico (the spaniard) — both cheeses were on the dry side, but not crumbly (not saying that’s a bad thing) — but they both finished creamy, if that makes any sense (i do beers, not cheese… get off me)

it surprised me when i noticed that this was belgium… most belgian beers have a particular taste and this one definitely doesn’t follow

as for taste… it’s very mild, but that can be a good thing — like if you’re having it with a meal, which i did.

i’ve had this earlier in the year but delayed the review — i was initially going to give it a C… it might’ve been a bad 6-pk or maybe my tastebuds changed

i’m still iffy on green-green bottled beers tho…

now that’s a crazy fruity beer — i don’t know why i got it… i think it’s cuz i thought, “hey… the peche was pretty dang good — lemme try this one out”

well… it wasn’t that great at all — it was like eating 50 sour apple jolly ranchers… ridiculous! after every sip, i’d be puckering my lips cuz it was so sweet and tart… dane cook would definitely not like this — he’d stab me in the jaw for buying it

with the way it smelled, it woulda been better served as a bath & body works hand soap

with all my bitching, i still finished it… but my stomach didn’t like me for doing so

chicks would dig this beer tho… ha

if you go to bevmo for beer… just hit up the belgium section… seriously

so i picked this up on sarmad’s suggestion way back when (tho i got the red label, not the blue). it was a great beer to sip on while pokering (err.. i should say, “playing poker” right?) — i shoulda gotten the 750mL bottle cuz the regular bottle wasn’t enough

it’s tasty… those trappists really know what they’re doing — i gotta try the blue and white labels now

odd thing about the bottle i got — once i opened it, the beer just wanted to escape — it was flowin’ out (and no, i didn’t shake — jerks)… it was alive or something… oh well, even with that mishap, i’ll still give this an A

firstly, yes… that’s a tulip glass i’m drinking out of… i had no idea i had one… it was just there so yea (it’s not really the right glass for the beer, but i don’t care.. so shove off!)

so i got this based on a vg’s suggestion (he works at bevmo)… it was cheap too for the size (and abv)…

it pours a really large head… once it settles, you can actually see some yeast suspended in there

as with most belgian beers, it was fruity on the first couple of pours — toward the end though, i noticed it took on a different taste… yes, i drank the whole friggin bottle by myself and was feelin’ it later… paired it with some pita chips, which was excellent, btw.
