Furikake Chex Mix

salty + sweet snacks on snacks on snacks!

Ingredients

  • 12.8 oz (box) Corn Chex
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 bottle Nori Fumi Furikake

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 250
  2. Melt the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together in a pot over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally (until butter melts and sugars dissolve)
  3. Add oil, honey, and soy sauce to the pot and continue stirring
  4. Remove from heat when everything is well mixed
  5. Throw cereal into a large mixing bowl and drizzle some syrup over it — mix gently with a wooden spoon
  6. Sprinkle furikake mix over the cereal and again mix gently
  7. Repeat drizzle and sprinkle
  8. Spread them onto parchment-lined baking sheets (x2) and pop into the oven for 30-35 minutes (stirring at the 15 minute mark)
