showing some range

so andy’s not the only person that can have artsy fartsy stuff on his site…

i’m not just about geek stuff and beer… wellll… maybe i am

here’s a shakespeare sonnet that i had to memorize during college (some english class) — i thought this was the coolest one… and it was the only one that didn’t deal with love or homosexuality (check ’em again… they’re in there)

Sonnet 27

Weary with toil, I haste me to my bed,
The dear repose for limbs with travel tired;
But then begins a journey in my head,
To work my mind, when body’s work’s expired:
For then my thoughts, from far where I abide,
Intend a zealous pilgrimage to thee,
And keep my drooping eyelids open wide,
Looking on darkness which the blind do see
Save that my soul’s imaginary sight
Presents thy shadow to my sightless view,
Which, like a jewel hung in ghastly night,
Makes black night beauteous and her old face new.
Lo! thus, by day my limbs, by night my mind,
For thee and for myself no quiet find.

ryan, kneel down!

i kinda feel bad laughing at this… but serves colts fans right for trying to bust a beer bong at a chargers game

i love the different things that are shouted… that black lady must know something — “let it out!”

cuz i’m sure he’s trying hard to keep it in?

yarr! it’s drivin’ me nuts

in honor of the upcoming homestand against the pirates of somalia pittsburgh, i’ve made a wallpaper (2 sizes, depending on the ratio of your monitor):

sinkthepirates_thumb

1280 x 1024
1440 x 900

on a side note, i made this one for myself — still sticks with the pirate theme, just a different type of pirate: 1280 x 1024

don’t call it a comeback!

what a game! [box]

down 7-1 (five of which came in the first inning), the padres rallied like mofo’s to win it 8-7! such a good game, the padres decided to spontaneously break into an eiffel tower (picture below is moments before eckstein walks into the eiffel)

bell‘s got 6 saves (out of 6 opportunities)… mainly throwing the cheddar… it’s awesome to see batters late and overmatched!

if you go to the boxscore, check out that bullpen action — helpin’ out young with scoreless relief

stay hot!

heath bell sets it straight

so heath bell will still watch espn

*if that doesn’t work, click here

bell is 5-for-5 in save opportunities (i don’t think hoffy was able to accomplish this last year — research? no… lazy), helping the padres stay atop the nl west with a record of 7-3… stay hot

speaking of, hoffman is pain-free! how many blown saves this year?

sorry… i’m just bitter
